What about Widgets?
The project requires you to include two relevant widgets. Depending upon the Theme you choose, or more specifically, when it was designed/released, the widgets are handled differently. Read below for the approved lists.
Modern (Block) Theme Support
Modern themes have absorbed widgets into the standard block-based features.
Sites using modern block themes do not use widgets, so you won’t find Appearance → Widgets in your dashboard. Instead, you can edit all of your website in one place at Appearance → Editor,
Widgets are built-in to the ‘Blocks’ you can add within pages, posts, or template areas.
For now, avoid editing templates ( footer and sidebar), we will discuss these options in the near future, but the workflows are tricky.
Refer to our Site Editor guide to learn how to edit all aspects of your website.

Classic (Old) Theme Support
Widget areas are special places on a classic theme that can accept blocks — typically areas like your sidebar or footer. Classic themes refer to themes developed before the WordPress (block) editor was introduced. Their design is edited primarily in Appearance → Customize, but the overall structure and layout are typically set by the theme and can’t be adjusted to the same level of control as what is offered by block themes. Most block editing options (like full-width content) are unavailable in classic themes.
To add a widget to your Classic-themed site:
Visit your dashboard. Navigate to Appearance → Widgets.
The most common widget areas for classic themes are the footer and sidebar, but you may see others depending on the theme you are using.
